Mystery "billionaire", Ladi Delano claims Obama victory to woo Tinubu in
an obvious bid to secure political campaign contracts from a chieftain
of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. Self professed
billionaire,
Ladi Delano has claimed to have been a major player in
strategising President Barack Obama's victory in the American
presidential elections.Delano who acquired his wealth trading in goods
including liquor and by subsequently putting his company up for sale,
reports say, was introduced to Tinubu while the frontline politician
recently underwent treatment for his knee injury in the United States of
America.The young businessman, who has been paying frequent visits to
Asiwaju's Victoria Island office, asserted that he was a key player in
the team that delivered the technological strategy to win votes for
Obama during the last elections.However, Delano's claim has elicited
strong disapproval amongst APC faithfuls who have described it as a
crude lie concocted to make money and a disingenuous business pitch that
could undermine the reputation of the party.
"Quite frankly the young
man, Delano, is just an impostor. I hope the inner circle of Asiwaju
would quickly sift through this crude lie and nip Delano's disingenuous
business pitch in the bud. This wrong message must be prevented from
spreading across as it could undermine the growing reputation of the APC
and embarrass the stature of Asiwaju as it happened in the past on the
alleged invitation from Obama to Asiwaju to attend Obama's presidential
inauguration.
I can say as a matter of fact that Delano has never moved
close to Obama not to talk of him delivering a crucial part of Obama's
electoral success; and his known business interests have no link with
any digital services", an anonymous APC official said.
