Arsenal have a mountain to climb if they are to reach the Champions League quarter-finals after Toni Kroos's brilliant second-half strike, plus a late second goal from Tomas Muller, sunk the 10-man Gunners at the Emirates Stadium. The German giants punished one of their own, after Mesut Ozil missed a first-half penalty that would have given Arsenal the lead after a superb start to the game. Ozil won the penalty himself but his spot-kick was weak and Manuel Neuer saved with ease. Bayern missed a first-half penalty of their own when David Alaba hit the post following a foul on Arjen Robben by Wojciech Szczesny. But Arsenal were doubly punished as their goalkeeper was sent off for denying the Dutch winger a clear goalscoring opportunity
